Product introduction: 

I. Overview: the butterfly valve for transformer is installed at the flange connection between the oil tank or pipeline of an oil-immersed transformer and removable component. It is used for opening or blocking oil route of the transformer and serves as the butterfly valve for oil drainage in emergency or maintenance. 

 

II. Product profile

3. Sealing pressure: vacuum butterfly valve has no leakage at 0.5Mpa and rigid sealing butterfly valve has no leakage at 0.1Mpa.

III. Installation and operation instruction

1. Open-close status of the butterfly valve can be displayed vividly in case the bonnet is removed. When the positioning pin is close to word "OPEN", it indicates the butterfly valve is at open status; when the positioning pin is close to word "CLOSE", it indicates the butterfly valve is at closed status. 

Attention: the red arrow at the revolving shaft head indicates the valve block direction, facing the pipe diameter direction indicating open and vertical with pipe diameter direction indicating closed. 

2. During its installation, the butterfly valve shall be at closed status. Please check whether the installation flange pitch matches with the butterfly valve. Please stop installation immediately, if the flange pitch is incorrect. 

3. During transformer accessory lifting, the butterfly valve needs to prevent stress and knock. Since all sealing rings are made of special rubber, please contact our company, if they are damaged and need to be replaced. 

4. During installation, please make sure the butterfly valve and the inner hole of the flange are concentric and tighten installation bolts evenly to prevent uneven stress from damaging the sealing part of the butterfly valve during tightening. 

5. Open-close methods 

5.1 Use an adjustable spanner to rotate and screw out the bonnet anticlockwise. Remove the bonnet and its sealing part together and keep them properly, without losing. 

5.2 According to the indicated direction of the limit indicator sheet at the valve shaft, the butterfly valve can be opened after rotating 90° anticlockwise and closed after rotating 90° clockwise. 

6. During bonnet installation, pay attention to open-close status of the valve. The red arrow indicates the valve block direction, facing the pipe diameter direction indicating open and vertical with pipe diameter direction indicating closed. Find out the word corresponding to current open-close status of the valve, put the sealing part and expose corresponding word before tightening the bonnet clockwise. 

 

IV. Common fault analysis

Open-close fault of valve

Check whether the flange match with the valve or the flange does not match with the inner hole of the valve.
During its rotation, the valve will be held against by the flange and unable to be opened

Please replace with a correct valve.

Oil leakage fault of valve

For leakage at the connection between the valve and the flange, check whether installation bolts of the valve are tightened and whether the sealing part is damaged

Please tighten installation bolts or replace the sealing part of the valve

For oil leakage at the valve block, rigid sealing type butterfly valve is allowed to have certain amount of leakage as per standard.
If leakage does not exceed the standard amount,
the valve can be used; if leakage exceeds the standard amount, it may be caused by long-term abrasion of the valve block.
